Just a small update with a sleep-related link: http://theweek.com/article/index/228263/the-sleep-mask-that-helps-you-control-your-dreams
Hi out there,
I just wanted to say that I’m not dead. Although I’m very excited about this project, there are higher priorities somewhere eles. I’ll notify you about any progress as soon as I resume my action.
Sleep well *harhar*
Lars
Since the sourceforge site seems to stay down, i emailed the support of zeo, here is the answer:
Hi Born,
Thanks for emailing. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with zeorawdata.sourceforge.net. I have my Web Development team looking into it. In the meantime click here for Zeo Raw Data Library documentation: http://www.sleepstreamonline.com/rdl/
Sleep Well,
Chela
Average ZQ: 90
Zeo Customer Care
They include their ZQ (intends to be something like the IQ of sleeping) in their signature!
But more importantly, i have the documentation! Maybe i start in the upcoming week. The first step will be: Analyze a raw-data file from the sleep-coach and understand the library.
I wanted to start making experiments and the page http://zeorawdata.sourceforge.net/ was offline promptly… postponing again :-/
The problem with powernapping is that you want to sleep for say 15 minutes but don’t know exactly how long you need to fall asleep and end up trying to guess what time you want to wake up. With Supersleep, you could really time a nap for an exact amount of time.
Had an interesting conversation with two psychologists yesterday (no i’m not crazy yet, i met them casually), they suggested to use music or colors to induce brain waves via Pavlovian conditioning. When i got rid of the technical details, i’ll meet them again to create a training plan.
The Cable has arrived, i’ll have some time after the upcoming week!
THE CABLE was shipped on March, 1st… still waiting.
At my idea-collection a few days ago, i missed the most obvious one: REM-sleep detector to induce a lucid dream.
So today i ordered a cable at sparkfun: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9717
After trying to order a similar cable at a german electronic supplier (epically failing at describing what kind of cable i need) i decided to take the shipping cost of around 12 $ and realized that paypal offers an instand paying option \o/. The exchange rate was 1 € = 1.34508 $.
When the cable arrives, i have to use my non-existinc eletronic skills to follow the instruction 1.1. on http://zeorawdata.sourceforge.net/starting.html#interface-cable.
Memo to myself: It may be possible to use the output of the sensor device to control a computer. Some use cases:
I think that the probability that the data of the Zeo sensor device is as accurate as needed to realize such things is very low, but never say never.
